About Sportie

This journey started as a parent on the side lines. Somehow within 2 years I became chairman of the youth club with 5 teams. 2 years later we had 21 teams and I had become the club chairman across both youth and seniors. Followed by women's and girls football added into the club.

Through this I witnessed the down side of running a football club. Recording and ensuring subs and fines were paid, ordering and then tracking kit and getting it back, managing finances, dealing with welfare issues, managing pitch allocations for training and games, managing coaches and finding referees being a few of the weekly tasks.

All this takes its toll on your time and life. From this I decided there had to be a better way and the concept of Sportie was born. My background is in IT having founded floristPro which currently manages over 1000 UK e-commerce florist websites. The developers have worked side by side with coaches, managers, players, guardians and committee members to create Sportie.
